Massachusetts State Police Radio Codes and Alphabet Practice Test

The main idea being tested is the expectation that cadets uphold the honor code through unwavering honesty and ethical conduct, and that they actively reject misconduct in themselves and in others. The statement that best fits this is that cadets should not lie, steal, or cheat and should not tolerate such in others. This captures the core standard of integrity that underpins trust among teammates and the public, which is vital in law enforcement. It emphasizes personal responsibility and a duty to hold peers accountable, creating a culture where dishonesty and theft are not tolerated and where ethical behavior is the normal expectation in every situation. The other thoughts conflict with that standard: deceit when necessary suggests a mindset that dishonesty could be permissible, which undermines trust; lying, stealing, or cheating occasionally implies a casual acceptance of unethical acts; and following orders only during training ignores a continuous obligation to act honorably both on and off duty, which would erode professional ethics.
